Jakarta, August 1, 2025 – PT Widodo Makmur Unggas Tbk (WMUU), a poultry sector issuer listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange, is projecting a positive business outlook for the poultry industry throughout 2025. In the first half of the year, the Company recorded significant growth. Net sales reached IDR 301 billion, marking a 137% increase compared to IDR 127 billion in the same period of the previous year.
Improvements were also seen in the gross loss, which narrowed to IDR 15 billion—an improvement from IDR 19 billion in the same period last year. The Company succeeded in posting a positive EBITDA of IDR 8.5 billion in the first half of 2025, a significant turnaround from the negative IDR 7.5 billion recorded in the same period of the previous year. On the other hand, the Company still reported an operating loss of IDR 24 billion in H1 2025. Nonetheless, this represents a substantial 30% improvement compared to the IDR 35 billion loss recorded in the first half of 2024.
"This improvement reflects the effectiveness of our efficiency strategies, the strengthening of core business lines, and our ability to leverage market momentum driven by government policies in the food and animal protein sectors," said WMUU Director, Andi Susilo.
The Company reaffirmed its commitment to driving continued performance growth through well directed strategic initiatives. Efficiency efforts will be implemented across all operational activities, along with enhanced utilization of existing production facilities.
In addition, the Company is proactively exploring new partnership opportunities to secure additional working capital. This step is expected to act as a catalyst for the execution of strategic plans and the achievement of management’s targets. "New working capital is a crucial driver for the Company in executing its growth strategies and maximizing existing business potential," Andi Susilo added.
WMUU’s performance recovery strategy is also aligned with positive trends in the national food sector, particularly in the poultry industry, which is being supported by the government’s implementation of the Free Nutritious Meals Program. The program is expected to broadly increase the consumption of animal protein, including chicken products, thereby opening up greater market expansion opportunities for the Company.
